The first camp 2001 started without problems! All the kids arrived safely at the "Dr. F. Nagl" Hütte on the
"Hohe Wand". After setting up the camp they had wraps for lunch (kind of mexican "Tacos"). Then the campers built a shelter in the
wood and played several games to get to know each other.
There was sunshine during lunch time, but at 4pm there was an overcast with rain and around 14° C. The campers are
all happy, though.
Tonight they will make marmelade and pizza. Afterwards, there will be a night walk and a camp-fire.
3rd July, 2001
Last night was a cold night with only 6° C. The night walk was fun, though and everybody had a great time.
In the morning the campers had breakfast with toast, cornflakes and the camp-made marmelade (they made it yesterday
in the evening). They painted flower pots in the morning and planted some cress in the afternoon.
For lunch there were Hamburgers and Veggie-burgers. After lunch they played a big forest game in the nearby woods
at temperatures of around 14° C. The weather was partly cloudly partly sunny at the Hohe Wand.
In the late afternoon they were doing pottery. For dinner the campers will enjoy spaghetti and tiramisu. For the
evening there are plans for a big night game in the forest and there will be another camp fire, of course.
Still, everyone is healthy and well. The kids have a great time!
4th July, 2001
Again, it was a cold night last night with only 6° C (so Danny had to put the heating on). In the morning
the temperatures raised and they had 11° C at breakfast time. Due to a heavy rain showers during the morning, the
campers had to change theirs plans visiting an open-air pool - they visited an indoor-pool in Neunkirchen instead.
The camp bus picked them up at 11am and they returned by 1pm.
For lunch they had soup and hot-dogs. The campers were tie-dying T-shirts during the afternoon. The weather
was getting better, partly cloudy and around 15° C.
By 3pm the kids received the emails some of the parents sent to them during the week (as we do not have
a direct computer connection to the Hohe Wand, we have to bring these emails up; hence, we cannot forward
emails for this camp any longer).
For dinner there will be a great buffet and in the evening they will play "The Big Humsar" in the wood.
Still, everybody is happy and healthy. Outcast for tomorrow morning: Irish Breakfast (the Irish influence
of Gerry on this camp).

Some pictures of this camp are online - check them out!
The kids enjoyed the Irish breakfast and had a lot of sports during this sunny morning. For lunch, they had
sandwiches.
In the afternoon they made rain-sticks and played several games (including Darts). Fiona made muffins and
icecream for the campers. For dinner there was a chicken BBQ and veggie burgers.
Then the camper celebrated the birthday of Sophie with a birthday party - Happy Birthday, Sophie!
In the evening the "camp-fire-disco-show" took place and there were a lot of fireworks.
Finally the weather changed to something like summer: the temperatures raised up to 20° C and there were
no clouds the whole day long. A great summer day for all the campers.
Everbody in camp says Hello to Linda, who went home this afternoon with fever. In the evening, Linda
wrote an email to the remaining campers:
Hello my friends at the camp
I've red your greetings in internet and I was very happy about them. So in the afternoon I had to stay in bed with
fever. In the evening I saw the pictures from the last days which we (mom and I) enjoyed very much.
I am really sorry that I can not be with you. Especially the disco party was my favorite day.
I wish you a lot of fun for the last day. I liked the days whith the whole group this year. If someone
wants to call me, Danny can give you my telefonnumber.
Yours Linda
6th July, 2001
This morning the campers had pan-cake for breakfast. The day started sunny with 17° C. Until midday
they played "Leading The Blind" and a troop-search game in the woods. In fact, the troop search game's
target was to find Ninas flashlight which she lost yesterday. And yes: they found it.
After lunch (Tacos) the campers cleaned up the camp and prepared for the departure. In the afternoon
they were at the wild-life park at the "Kleine Kanzel" watching various animals.
They had plenty of sunshine with temperatures up to 25° C. So this turned out to be the only day
that matches the forcast we had...
Everbody had a great time on this camp and there were many children who want to stay longer.
The campers will return at 6pm. CU there.
